This treatment uses the Dr. Pen, a medical-grade microneedling device. Surgical-grade micro-needles create more than a million controlled micro-injuries in the dermis.

The skin responds by producing new collagen, elastin and growth factors. Over the following weeks, damaged skin is replaced with new skin that has better structure and elasticity, and downtime is minimal.

Helps with

  • Acne scars
  • Fine lines
  • Large pores
  • Discolouration
  • Skin texture

Avoid retinol and other active ingredients for one week before treatment. Microneedling is not suitable for active acne.

Microneedling with PRP

For glowing skin

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own blood is applied straight after microneedling, so its growth factors can enter the fresh channels. Clients choose it for extra glow and a bigger change in texture.

PRP is prepared from a small sample of your blood. A centrifuge separates out the platelet-rich layer, which carries growth factors that support repair.

PRP at Mina's is used for

  • Hair loss
  • Thinning hair
  • Facial collagen boost

PRP is also part of our foot care services for plantar fasciitis.

Questions

Microneedling and PRP questions

What does microneedling help with?

Microneedling is used for acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven texture and discolouration. The tiny needle channels prompt the skin to make new collagen and elastin.

Is there downtime after microneedling?

Downtime is minimal. Skin usually looks pink for a day or two, similar to a mild sunburn.

Who should not have microneedling?

Microneedling is not suitable for skin with active acne. You also need to stop retinol and other active ingredients for one week before treatment.

What is PRP?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. A small blood sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich layer, which contains growth factors, and that layer is applied to the skin or injected into the treatment area.

Can PRP help with thinning hair?

PRP is used for hair loss and thinning hair. It is given as a series of treatments, and your Nurse will recommend a schedule after assessing your scalp.
